~INSTRUCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS~

To book in your audition please contact S2S Admin by email at studio2stage@live.com.au Any questions can also be directed to this email. If you are unable to make the audition date, please send an email to Admin as we may be able to see you on another day.
Choose a Session Time:
Please inform Admin of your preferred session time when you are booking-in via the above email.
Saturday 17th July: 1:15pm | 2pm | 3:15pm | 4pm
Requirements:
a) Please prepare 2 songs (1 uptempo & 1 ballad) from the composer, STEPHEN SCHWARTZ, preferably NOT from the Godspell production. Backing tracks must be supplied on either a CD or USB only.
b) All auditionees will be given script segments to read on the day, you do not need to prepare anything for this.
c) All auditionees are required to partake in simple dance and movement exercises.
d) Please supply a colour head-shot no larger than A5 and no smaller than wallet size. A passport or key-chain size photo is not appropriate.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of your session and please also arrive vocally and physically warmed up.

July 23rd, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th - evening performances

~REHEARSAL DETAILS~
General Rehearsals:
Monday & Wednesday evenings 7pm - 9:30pm
Saturday late afternoons 1:30pm - 5pm
Commencing Monday 26th March 2018 with the possibility of later finishing times closer to the Performance Dates.
Technical Rehearsals:
Commence Monday 2nd July and continued until Tuesday 17th July.
Please ensure you check any prior commitments on these days for any clashes, and advise the Production Team at your audition.
~CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS~
LEADS:
Jesus (17-22) Male - Tenor
He is charismatic, high energy, charming, funny, gentle, but with
strength. Others instinctively follow him. The enigmatic, story telling leader of the group. He experiences a full array of emotions during the show and is a natural-born teacher.
John the Baptist/Judas (17-22) Male - Baritone
He is the most ardent disciple who begins to question and rebel. He is charismatic and handsome. He is the most "serious" and intellectual of the group and has a good sense of physical comedy.
SUPPORTING:
Anna Maria (14-16) Female - Mezzo-Soprano
A bit of a tomboy, but basically a sweetie who is open to the teachings of Jesus. She is the first of the group to commit to following Jesus.
This role also has the cast name of Robin.
George (14-18) Male - Baritone
The comedian, the proverbial class clown of the group. The guy who possesses a talent for voices and imitations. He is more of a comedian than a vocalist.
This role also has the cast name of Herb.
Celisse (14-18) Female - Mezzo-Soprano
The female equivalent of the class clown. She is the goofy one of the group. She is more of a comedian than a vocalist.
This role also has the cast name of Gilmer.
Telly (15-20) Male - Tenor
He is not the brightest of the group and is a little slow on the uptake.
He has a great sweetness and innocence about him.
This role also has the cast name of Lamar.
Lindsay (16-22) Female - Soprano
She is the confident one who is a show-off. She is the first one to
volunteer, but often before she really understands what is going on.
This role also has the cast name of Joanne.
Morgan (18-22) Female - Alto (low)
She is sassy, slightly cynical and she is the most urban of the group.
The “sexy” one, in the manner of Madonna or Mae West. In other words it is more put-on and in fun than real.
This role also has the cast name of Sonia.
Nick (18-22) Male - Tenor (falsetto)
He is impish and playful and has a very high level of energy. Often does mischievous things just for fun.
This role also has the cast name of Jeffery.
Uzo (15-19) Female - Alto
She is the shy one of the group with an “earth mother” kind of warmth to her. She is sometimes a little slow to understand things, but when she does, she commits all the way.
This role also has the cast name of Peggy.
GODSPELL: Small cast of 10 performers. 5 males and 5 females with
2 leads and 8 supporting roles. All Performers must possess a good sense of physical comedy.
The ages in brackets are suggested ages so feel free to apply if you think a role suits you.
Casting is for performers 14 - 22 years.
